Description
This part-time nurse practitioner (NP) position is a unique and exciting position. This position will be able to provide care both on our mobile medical unit and clinic builiding. The mobile medical unit currently sees scheduled patients twice per month, but the goal is to expand services on the mobile clinic. The nurse practitioner is responsible for providing primary care to patients as directed by clinical protocols. As per State of Indiana guidelines, the nurse practitioner utilizes a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed for this position. It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills requested. Willingness to train in driving this mobile clinic (bus) is required, but a CDL is not required for this vehicle. In addition to providing care on the mobile unit, the NP will provide care at 2-3 medical clinics in the building per month. Requirements/Duties • Approximately 10 hours per week-hours may vary week to week depending clinical needs. • Attendance at weekly staff meeting Tuesday morning • Provide clinical care on Mobile Medical Clinics • Drive mobile medical unit to clinics • Work with Executive Director on additional clinic locations • Work with Medical Director for additional medical clinic needs • Manage and input data Electronic Medical Record (AthenaHealth) per clinic requirements • Make referrals and follow-ups for patients as needed • Follow up on labs as needed • Manage supplies on Mobile Unit and clinic building • Coordinate with case-manager for community service needs • Additional Projects as needed • Assisting with the coverage of medical clinics when needed.
Requirements
• Current RN and completion of Nurse Practitioner program. • FNP is preferred. • Prescriptive license is required • Current or recent experience in primary care required. • Maintains CEUs for certification renewal. • CPR certified • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. • Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and primary patient care management. • Substantial interpersonal skills necessary to instruct patients and to collaborate with health team members. • Demonstrates physical and emotional stability necessary to function professionally and independently • Effective communication skills in verbal, non-verbal, written, and electronic media. • Role model of professionalism in nursing practice. • Ability to work independently with collaboration. • Comfort with driving the mobile clinic within the county (training provided)
